Major Shipping Carrier 2022 Holiday Deadlines
Pratt Team
| 3 min readIt’s time to prepare for the holiday shipping rush. This year’s holiday season starts amidst higher inflation rates, labor shortages, and lingering supply chain shortages. Yet, regardless of these socio-economic issues, research firms have predicted that holiday sales will continue to increase. Visa Business and Economic Insights are predicting winter season sales to increase 6.7% year over year. And Deloitte is predicting that sales will increase by up to 6% compared to the 2021 holiday season.
All three major shipping carriers are not expecting any major delays for packaging and shipping. Yet, with continuing labor shortages and supply chain issues, consumers should try to get their packages in the mail as early as possible.
With the increase in consumer spending and ongoing logistical issues, it has become even more relevant this year to be aware of the holiday shipping cutoff dates so that you can set expectations with your customers. This expectation setting includes being transparent with customers about any other delays they can expect when shopping with you for the 2022 holiday season.
Keep the following carrier’s holiday deadlines in mind as the last possible day to ship in order for packages to arrive by Christmas, and keep in mind that shipping delays could add a few days to these cutoff dates. With Christmas falling on a Sunday, overnight and expedited shipping options may be more popular this year. And remember, the earlier your customers shop, the earlier they can expect their packages to arrive.
